Method
Source. Our hourly archive of funding, open interest and mark price for every token on two or more DEXs with at least $1M open interest (open data), plus the DEX Funding Index series. Consecutive hourly readings are compared; a gap in the archive longer than three hours is not treated as a change.
Sign flip. The hourly rate changed sign between two consecutive readings; readings within ±0.008% per 8h of zero count as flat and do not trigger.
Threshold. The annualised rate first exceeded 50%, 100% or 200% in absolute value.
Record. The reading is above every earlier reading (or below, for negative rates) in an archive at least three days long and 48 readings deep.
24h move and gap. Current snapshot rate against the archived reading closest to 24 hours earlier; moves of 20 APR points on markets above $20M OI, gap changes of 15 points where the smaller leg has at least $2M OI. Top eight of each.
Not a signal. A flip or record describes payments between longs and shorts, not direction. Methodology.
